Cesar Chavez was an American labor leader. He was born in Yuma, Az in 1927 and died April 23 1993. He grew up in the fields with his parents. He started working at a young age picking fruits to help his parents get more money, so they could have enough for food. It was very hard because they were not treated fairly and sometimes they did not have money for food.
When Cesar grew up, he was not happy about what was happening, so he decided to gather people and start marching, which they called huelga. Their bosses did not like this, and Cesar wanted change so much that he would go on hunger strikes. After all the marches, the bosses decided to raise wages and most people were happy.
