GLI is a club that supports girls around the world in education and are trying to give them the supplies they need. The club is having a bake sale at Lombard and Leavenworth from 10:30 to 2 o’clock. This is all on Saturday, November 10 so stop by to support the club! We meet every Monday during lunch in Mr. Guenza’s class. The leaders of the club are Gemma and Sabina. Every meeting we talk about how we can help people, possible fundraisers and sometimes we play games about things that need to change like in Kahoot.

Some trends are beating your phone half to death. This is coming from the app called TikTok. TikTok is another version of Musically and used for videos. People are going out of there way to smash their phone or sitting on it. They also bully people on Tik Tok by doing dances or laughing at another's pain. You can see video footage of some of this by searching up ; “Ironic TikTok videos” on the video streaming platform, YouTube.
I personally think that this school lacks events. For example, what we did in Fall Fest was boring, all we did was just go to the yard, dance or watch a movie. I think that there should be a group of people who could organize events. There should be different booths and kids could use their money to buy tickets in order to participate in the booths activity.
We should also have more fundraisers for the school and the students can organize it to raise money to host the events. Just like when I was in six grade, the eight graders had a bake sale. I think having fundraisers would be a positive thing for students to do and it’s also for a good cause. -Yanki My first tip about how to survive middle school is to just avoid drama with other students. Trust me it doesn’t feel nice when other people in the school talks about something that you have done. If staying out of drama means to be less social I personally think you should just hang out with the people who you trust and are good influences to you. Since middle school everyone becomes cocky and thinks they are better than other people I suggest just stay with a small group of friends that you truly care for and they feel the same about you.
Another tip I have is to just do your best in school and try not to start skipping class and ditching because that won’t help you in the future. Middle school is unlike elementary where you have so much free time and you get to fool around. When you are in middle school try your best in classes and do everything you are required to also if your teacher gives you extra credit, you should take that advantage and do it so it looks better in your record when high schools look at it. The last tip I have for you is to just have fun and enjoy your youth and experience in middle school because no one would want to just stay home and do homework and study. My advice for you is to finish your work to the best of your ability and when you have free time just go out and have fun with your friends. For example, my friends and I usually make plans on Sundays and go to the movies, go shopping, or just hang out. High schools have a lot of pressure on students and to add on to the stress, schools start really early and students have to wake up early in the morning just to get to school on time. In my opinion I think that schools should start later for example they can start at 8:30 am. The students will still have time to get to school but enough hours of school.
High schools should also give less homework but more projects so they have more time to work with other students instead of working alone. If the school gives students a lot of work and the students want to join any clubs or sports they won’t have enough time to finish everything and manage their time. Another thing about high schools are block schedule, I like the concept of it because block schedule means students have more time to do what they need to do in each class, and that means the students have more time to do their work. Also this means students have at least an hour to do big projects in class and not at home like middle schools. Written by Yan Ki. Edited by Christian. Lowell High School is one of the top high schools in San Francisco it is ranked 96 in the National Ranking and #11 in California High Schools, also #156 in STEM high schools. This school offers over 36 AP classes. They have schools tours for incoming freshmen and they offer the tour in Chinese, Arabic, English, Filipino, Russian, Spanish, and Vietnamese.
Lowell High School offers 10 sports team for boys and 7 teams for girls. For the boy’s team they have baseball, basketball, cross country, football, golf, soccer, tennis, track and field, volleyball, and wrestling. The girl’s team they have basketball, cross country, golf, soccer, softball, tennis and volleyball. This high school has over 2,600 students in 2015-2016. People would want to go to this school because this high school is a great preparatory for college and going to this high school is basically like going to college. Each class would have over 500 students. The school has 58.6% female and 41.4% male. I think this school could improve by putting less pressure on their students. They should also start class later because if students get to school at 7:58, the students might be too tired to pay attention which will affect their education. Jennifer Lopez is an Latina actress who earned a Golden Globe award for best actress in 1998. She is born in Castle Hill, New York City in New York. Jennifer Lopez is 49 years old. She currently has two kids, their names are Maximilian David and Emma Maribel. Her net worth is 380 million, she still has a successful music career but she makes the most money with her acting career.
This is positive in my opinion because despite her family heritage and all the racist people in this world she still pursued her dream and she takes pride in what she does. Jennifer Lopez also won over 122 from 341 nominations. Some includes three American Music Awards, one BET award, one Billboard Music award, ten Billboard Latin Music awards and two World Music Awards. |
